Re: Appys playoff chances

If Haysi and Clintwood both lose one game St Paul could move up

Re: Appys playoff chances

The way it is looking St. Paul is gonna win the Cumberland, if I am correct. If I am, they will automatically get in, seedin will just decide on where they end up right? from the last numbers i saw for D-1, it looked like.....
1. Burton
2. Appy
3. St. Paul/Clintwood
4. St. Paul/Clintwood/Haysi
The LPD is the best district in the state of Virginia.

Re: Appys playoff chances

I think mathematically it's still something like this:

1. Burton
2. Appy/Clintwood
3. Appy/Clintwood/Haysi/St Paul
4. Clintwood/Haysi/St Paul

Haysi won't beat Lee High, so I don't see them in the equation whatsoever.

Re: Appys playoff chances

if clintwood wins out, there should be no reason why they wont get a # 2 seed, a #3 seed at the most, they have a tough schedule and point wise i think they should be okay, appy has a good ball team and no doubt they will be in the playoffs, and more than likely they may have to play a greenwave team back to back, unless something happens...
but the way i see it, lpd dominating with 3 teams, and the cumberland district with a tough st. paul team that will lose the first round to a tough lpd team

Re: Appys playoff chances

St. Paul is already locked with the Cumberland's auto. bid.
Appy is in with a win or a Haysi loss.

Appy is not a lock yet by my calculations. Going 0-2 would give them 197-210 (well, Castlewood will beat Hurley, so 199-210).
With 2 wins, Clintwood will have 203-208.
With 2 wins, Haysi will have 200-212 (well, Hurley won't beat Cw, so 200-210).
Don't see any guarantee there for Appy or for a particular seed for anyone.

Clintwood and Haysi will battle it out for the last Spot and 2-0 will not garentee a spot for eather team

It will be tight But I THINK Appy has the #2 seed as well (not 100% sure but that is how I was figuring it (IMHO we will be seeing Appy vs Clintwood 2 weeks in a row)

You can't be right VHSL Helper, because evidently Counts always is...

Re: Appys playoff chances

Predicting the playoff matchups is just based on what folks think will happen...and the computers used to make the predictions on VA Preps message board was proven wrong within 2 days cuz the predictions were made before the PV-GC game. As long as you remember that teams trying to chase the others in points give points to that team if they have beaten them..it clears it a lil.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....

Re: Appys playoff chances

Here is how I had it figured

Appy is currently at 173 Assumening 2 losses 4 + 7 for PV and 4 + 6 for Clintwood brings them to 194

Extra Rider Points SHOULD be as follows

Castlewood +4(+2) (None are guarenteed but Hurly has to be all but a lock Coeburn COULD pull the upset but I am not looking for it)

Burton\GC +1 (Appy played and Lost to BOTH teams)

RC vs TS +2(0) (With the way the 2 teams have played it COULD go eather way)

SP/RC +2 (Appy played and BEAT Both teams)

SV 0 (+2) (SV runs into a Buzzsaw in an undefeated team SO I pick a lose)

Bringing them to 203 (TS or Coeburn could win and hurt that score or SV could win and hrlp but IF Appy goes 0-2 I think 203 is there number

Haysi is currently at 145 2 wins will bring them to From Wise +26 From Lee +28 (+26 with a loss to Va High) Bringing them to 197

Grundy 0(+2) (Will pick up zero points since there last game is against

Clintwood +2 (1)(2) (Assumeing the worst case senero for Appy)

TV/Hurly +2 (someone has to win)

Honaker +1 (0) (Honaker Should beat Tazwell but that is no guanerentee)

Ervinton 0 (+2) (Normally I would take Ervinton over Jenkins but Jenkions is not bad this year so I THINK Jenkins wins this one

Bera +2 (0) (Both Bera and Allen Central are horrable and I know next to no one these guys play so it is tough to get a reading but Allen Centrels 56-0 lose to Jenkins in week 1 made my dission for me)

Tug Valley 0 (open)

Bringing them to 204

You are right Haysi can and probably will outpoint Appy IF Appy loses 2 and Haysi wins 2

There are still several games that could go eather way SO the last week of the season COULD be LIKE week 1 of the playoffs WOW

Re: Appys playoff chances

There are way too many ifs for nearly all teams...too many unknowns to say for certain either way.
